Tracy Jensen is a writer, marketing nerd, volunteer outdoor girl and runner. She spends her days juggling single parenthood and her consulting business, putting more miles on her laptop than the running path. Jensen is a featured contributor in The HerStories Project’s 2016 anthology So Glad They Told Me: Women Get Real About Motherhood. She began writing online through her blog, It Builds Character, which ran 2011-2015. She has written for a broad range of sites, including EverydayFamily, Scary Mommy, She Owns It, BonBon Break, Mamalode and several regional publications, and was a member of the 2013 Chicago cast of Listen to Your Mother.
Outside of work, Jensen is an avid volunteer and advocate. She is a Shot@Life Ambassador for the United Nations Foundation and volunteers for a number of community and school organizations. As a mother, she hopes to model a dedication to service and a commitment to both local and global communities.
Her mantra: Fresh air, a good cup of coffee and a compelling story can cure just about anything.
